Adding a 'Glint' at Christmas

Chesapeake Bristol, an innovative supplier of self-adhesive labels and part of Chesapeake’s Branded Packaging division, has developed a new striking holographic print effect. The new eye-catching effect, Glint™, has been applied to a label for a new Christmas Ale launched by Skinner’s Brewery in Cornwall. The label helps create the impression of movement and adds a 3D quality to the product.

Chesapeake has launched a new versatile pack solution, Figured™.
Figured™ is a high quality shaped profile container that is produced using a unique process which ensures the seam of the tube’s outer wrap is not visible. The Greener Choice

Chesapeake has completed a programme to certify all of its European pharmaceutical packaging sites to FSC© and PEFC Chain of Custody standards. These standards allow Chesapeake to offer its customers paper-based products that originate from certified well managed forests.

Meeting Customer Demand

Chesapeake is investing over €2 million in its operations in France to strengthen its customer service levels. This includes the installation of a new printing press at its carton production site at Angoulême as well as the construction of a dedicated design studio and packaging research department. In addition, the expansion of the carton production site at Ussel is currently underway which will also be supported by additional ancillary equipment.

Green... with a touch of Gold!

Chesapeake was once again recognised as the leading innovator in the carton industry at the Starpack Awards on 30th September 2009. It was the only carton company to secure a Gold award, which was gained in the "Environment - New Developments" category for Green & Black’s Easter Egg packs. The judges announced that there were more entries in this category than any other making the achievement even more notable.

Silver... and good to touch!

Chesapeake also won a Silver Starpack Award in the category for Best Luxury Product Design with its Glenfiddich Highland Whisky Cake carton manufactured by Walkers Shortbread. The carton’s appearance is enhanced by a number of striking finishes and print effects to create a highly distinctive and eye catching pack. The judges commented "a beautifully printed carton that gives a real quality feel to a top of the range product."
