Chesapeake win two NPPC awards
Chesapeake Lexington has recently won two coveted ‘Excellence’ awards at the National Paperboard Packaging Competition held in Cincinnati, OH, U.S.A. The first award was presented for a display pack designed and produced for Rockstar Energy Gum. The striking packs were created to support the extension of the Rockstar brand from action sport energy drinks to a new energy confectionery gum.
The packs are enhanced with foil blocking and spot UV varnishing which provide strong shelf presence. The pack, which can be used as a countertop display, holds 12 cartonboard sleeves of gum and is printed in 6 colours. The sleeves are embossed to further reinforce the brand’s identity which also adds a tactile quality to the product.
Chesapeake Lexington also won an ‘Excellence’ award for a pack produced for Intel’s Core I7 Extreme Desktop micro-processor. The pack, which requires matching rigorous colour standards, is enhanced with foil blocking, spot UV varnish and precise embossing. The pack’s construction is equally as important and includes security features to prevent product tampering and re-use. Two display windows provide product visibility which is complemented by eye-catching graphics.
Troy Turley, Market Development Director – Chesapeake US, said, “We are delighted to receive these awards which reinforce our position as a key supplier of innovative packaging solutions. I would like to acknowledge the contribution of all our employees to this success. It clearly demonstrates the consistently high standards in print and technical excellence that we strive to offer our customers."
