Chesapeake extends geographical network

Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging, Europe’s leading manufacturer of healthcare packaging, has entered into a trading alliance with one of Spain’s leading suppliers of pharmaceutical and cosmetic cartons, Cartonajes Leca S.A. (‘Leca’).

Chesapeake’s involvement in this alliance has allowed it to extend its extensive global supply network in support of its customers in Southern Europe. Leca will represent both parties in Spain in order to meet customer requirements for a local source of supply. Chesapeake and Leca plan to work closely together to ensure that rigorous customer standards are maintained and any technical and marketing opportunities are maximised. The trading alliance, established for commercial reasons only, does not involve the ownership/exchange of shares or any other investment interest.

Commenting on the trading alliance, Mike Cheetham, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Director, said, “Leca is a well-respected packaging supplier and an ideal partner to further extend our presence in Southern Europe. This trading alliance will enhance our service to customers allowing both parties to offer a greater range of products and to jointly develop new solutions.“

Leca, part of the Lantero Group, has three production sites in Spain with two operations in Madrid and a plant in Barcelona. Leca produce a comprehensive range of folding cartons for the pharmaceutical and healthcare market. The business supplies a number of leading multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers as well as local specialists.
