Tue 29th June 2010

Mike Codington, General Manager Chesapeake Kunshan, commented on the investment, “The demand levels at our Kunshan site are steadily increasing and the press will ensure we continue to meet our customers’ expectations. We can now supply cartons, leaflets and labels which will allow us to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical sector as well as position us for growth in other markets. The new Mark Andy press ideally complements the Kunshan factory which is equipped with the latest machinery and systems.”

The Mark Andy Performance Series machine has an innovative print platform which produces consistently high print quality. Mike Codington, went on to say, “Our team visited Mark Andy’s print technology center in Switzerland and witnessed impressive machine set-up and changeover times. The operator was able to complete all changeover tasks while maintaining high quality standards. This is the first P7 press in China and this investment further reinforces Chesapeake’s position as a leading global supplier of pharmaceutical packaging.”

The P7 is the most advanced model in the Performance Series including a revolutionary print deck design that features fast print set-up and changeovers.  The P7 also offers a sophisticated automation package which includes an exclusive registration management system for consistent quality control and fast make-readies. Several months of in-depth R&D went into the design of the Performance Series.  This was critical to formulating a machine design that would deliver quantifiable results. Paul Brauss, CEO, Mark Andy, Inc. stated, “As a result of our due diligence and focus on the needs of top-end companies like Chesapeake, we were able to deliver the right solution through the Performance Series design.  Chesapeake is a company who drives to deliver the best solutions for their customers every day, and we are delighted that Mark Andy was able to develop a performance-driven machine that meets their needs.  From the beginning, we have worked closely with Chesapeake to create the configurations that support their operational goals and will drive performance for several years to come.”
