Bristol 'Glint' at EFTA Awards

On Thursday 25th March, Chesapeake Bristol won a prestigious gold award at the EFTA Print Awards, held in Leeds at the Armouries Hall. Bristol pushed aside all their competitors to win gold in the coveted category, Technical Innovation. The award was presented for a beer label incorporating a new striking holographic print effect, Glint™. This eye-catching effect was applied to a label for a Christmas Ale launched by Skinner’s Brewery in Cornwall in December 2009.

UK's Largest Ever GUK for Chesapeake

Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging, a leading global supplier of paperboard packaging, has announced the installation of what is thought to be the UK’s largest and most sophisticated folder at its pharmaceutical packaging plant in Greenford, Middlesex. The GUK FA53 features 14 folding plates, two knives, and GUK’s Aqua-Scoring capability, and will be used for the production of patient information leaflets for the pharmaceutical industry.

New Lithrone for Chesapeake's Leicester plant

Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging, a leading global supplier of paperboard packaging, is installing a six colour Komori Lithrone S40 printing press at its Leicester operation as part of a major divisional investment programme. The choice of press, following exhaustive trials at Komori’s Graphic Technology Centres in Japan and Holland, will be installed in June. The press has been specified with Komori’s highest automation package, which includes fully automated plate changing and the Komori KHS-AI fast make ready system.

The Greener Choice

Chesapeake has completed a programme to certify all of its European pharmaceutical packaging sites to FSC© and PEFC Chain of Custody standards. These standards allow Chesapeake to offer its customers paper-based products that originate from certified well managed forests.
